One down, and a half to go. I finished penguin number one on Tuesday. Penguin number two has been stuffed and sewn up. The wings have been sewn up and pinned on. Actual sewing will probably wait until daylight because black on black is just too hard to see. I have great confidence that both Penguins will be complete by the closing ceremonies.
As an added challenge I was hoping to complete a pair of fancy raindrop lace socks. I got one done. And have most of the cuff done on sock two. Unfortunately I was sidelined by weird arm pain last night, so I opted to give it a break and lay off the knitting. If I had Saturday free, I think I could get them done, but I have to teach all day. There may yet be hope, but at least I exceeded my original goal by a whole penguin.
Will post pictures soon, I promise. Current Mood: accomplished
|Olympic Update, some assembly required...
Oh the insanity of Olympic Knitting. At hhw's suggestion, I have joined the knitting Olympics. My chosen project is a cute little knitted penguin. The knitting part actually went quite fast. I had him knit by the end of the weekend. But the assembling, that's the challenge. Yesterday afternoon I finished sewing his little body together. Last night I sewed his little feet and wings. Now I just need to stuff and assemble. And since he went more quickly than expected I am making another one. I got the back and head knit yesterday. I might even have time to make 3. Oh no, they are multiplying like tribbles....
Other projects coming up, some cool lacy socks in a yarn with a metallic fiber, another pair of felted slippers, a felted bag, and another sweater...

|flannel nightgowns, cowboy boots, furry jackets, sailor suits. In case you were wondering.
T-shirts have been acquired. They will be washed this evening and probably printed either Thursday or Friday. The main screen has been made. Thanks Alikander for the graphic.
My instructor has helped me figure out a way to do the job without having to make three screens and without having to do tedious registration. They may be a bit more arty than precise, but I think that they will be quite cool when finished. I will also have a reasonably permanent screen with our logo. What's next? Book bags anyone? (: Custom folders for all Wiscon info? Pocket Program Protectors? Oh the possibilities...
The next question is would you all like to wait and have a t-shirt ceremony at Wiscon next year? Or do you want your t-shirts now now now?
So many questions to ponder... Current Mood: creative
